Energy Analyst
  • Hold a post graduate degree in one of these areas: engineering, energy policy, energy planning, energy economics or relevant disciplines appropriate to the technical, financial and organisational management of the Project. Ph.D. in related field and knowledge of Energy Management System is an advantage.
  • Highly knowledgeable on sustainable energy matters, agencies and ministries of Southeast Asia countries as well as in-depth knowledge in regional energy cooperation, development and/or implementation.
  • Highly-motivated individual with the ability to take the initiative, work independently and collaborate with others to produce high-quality reports, articles and presentations in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work well with experts, engineers, technicians, editors, consultants and at the same time be able to network with officials of the ASEAN Member Countries, and cooperate with Dialogue Partners and International Organizations.
  • Proficiency with energy modelling tools and information technology.
  • Knowledge of ACE and ASEAN Member Countries would be of advantage.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

Internship in Oil And Gas Energy Security
  • Assist the APAEC Technical Officer (TO) for Conventional Energy to compile information of oil and gas policy in each ASEAN Member Country
  • Assist the TO to compile information of oil and gas policy projects and programme in ASEAN.
  • Facilitate one exchange information with all ACE’s staffs to report the progress and final output of the internship (Last week of the duration).
Internship programme on EE&C
  • Assist the APAEC technical officer related to data collection and validation of ASEAN-Japan Energy Efficiency Partnership (AJEEP) programme in building and industry
  • Support the data aggregation of energy audit report of AJEEP programme
  • Support the identification of the indicators on economy, energy final consumption and social development. In terms of indicators, the internship will gain experience on how to draw on different types of indicators (i.e., inputs, outputs, outcomes, impacts) to reflect the key results in the programme
  • Assist on drafting the report of AJEEP impact analysis
  • To contribute in one article for ACE’s website based on the report
  • Facilitate one exchange information with all ACE’s staffs to report the progress and final output of the internship
Internship Programme
  • ASEAN national.
  • Proficiency in English and very good writing skills.
  • Interest in the field of ACE’s work, particularly the APAEC 2016-2025’s 7 (seven) Programme Areas; ASEAN Power Grid, Trans-ASEAN Gas Pipeline, Coal and Clean Coal Technology, Energy Efficiency and Conservation, Renewable Energy, Regional Energy Policy and Planning, and Civilian Nuclear Energy.
  • Enrolled in Bachelor’s degree in engineering, energy studies, international relations, or related field (minimum the third-year student). For communication interns, a degree in language studies is preferred.
  • Enrolled in Master’s, or doctorate degree in engineering, energy studies, or related field (pursuing at least one semester/quarter remaining after internship).
  • Graduated with a university degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, and doctorates or equivalent) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a 6 months period after graduation.
  • Basic knowledge on general computer software (i.e. MS Office).
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and to adapt to an international working environment.
Research Fellowships
  • The timing and duration of the visit.
  • The nature of the proposed research that should be in-line and in support of the 7 (seven) Programme Areas of the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation 2016-2025: ASEAN Power Grid; Trans-ASEAN Gas Pipeline; Coal and Clean Coal Technology; Energy Efficiency and Conservation; Renewable Energy; Regional Energy Policy and Planning; and Civilian Nuclear Energy.
  • Confirmation that the applicant are/will be enrolled in a PhD or Postdoctoral programme during the fellowship.
  • Sponsorship situation: the applicant is fully funded by a sponsoring institution or seeks fund from ACE.
  • Full proposal of the research (if available) or a one-page outline of the specific piece of research.
  • Proposed length of stay at ACE, between 3 and 6 months.
  • A sample of past research or publication in English.
