On 14 July 2016, the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) successfully organised The 15th Senior Officials Meeting on Energy (SOME) + 3 (China, Japan, the Republic of Korea) Energy Policy Governing Group (EPGG) in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar.  The Meeting was attended by delegates from the ASEAN Member States (AMS), China, Japan, and Korea. Also in attendance were representatives from the ASEAN Secretariat and ACE.

During the Meeting, Mr. U Htein Lwin, the Senior Officials on Energy (SOE) Leader of Myanmar, encouraged all the ASEAN+3 countries to continue with information sharing and capacity building programmes, and to promote clear policy development in the region.

The SOME+3 EPGG summarised and reviewed the results from the Oil Market and Natural Gas Forum and Business Dialogue; from the Oil Stockpiling Roadmap Meeting; the New, Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Workshop; and the Energy Security Forum. The SOME+3 EPGG aims to strengthen the energy policy cooperation among ASEAN+3 members. (SBS. Featured image credit:  Myanmar)
