Further Planning for APAEC Implementation

07 June 2017

The Annual Meeting of ASEAN Regional Energy Policy and Planning Sub-sector Network (REPP-SSN) was held on 7 June 2017 in Parañaque City.  The one-day meeting was organised by the Department of Energy (DOE) of the Philippines and the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE). The meeting aimed to review the SSN’s accomplishments in 2016 and to plan the 2017-2018 agenda of different ASEAN SSN and Specialised Energy Bodies (SEB), as well as AMS’ engagement with dialogue partners and international Organisations (DPs/IOs).

The meeting was attended by Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. Also present were the representatives of ACE, ASEAN Council on Petroleum (ASCOPE), and ASEAN Secretariat.

Mr. Jonathan Goh, Senior Officials on Energy (SOE) Leader of Singapore and Mr. Jesus Cristino P. Posadas, SOE Leader of the Philippines welcomed all the delegates to the meeting. They hoped the meeting would facilitate a better discussion and reflect the current status of the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC) 2016-2025 implementation in preparation for the 35th Senior Officials Meeting on Energy and its associated meetings on 17-21 July 2017.
