Spatial Estimate of Levelised Costs of Electricity (LCOE) in ASEAN

ACE is proud to share the contribution to the First-ever Spatial Estimate of Levelised Cost of Electricity (LCOE), the new mapping application that visualises the costs of developing renewable energy resources developed by National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). This report reveals abundant, cost-competitive potential for wind and solar PV across ASEAN countries.

The report benefited from the Renewable Energy Sub Sectoral Network (RE-SSN) Focal Points in each ASEAN member state for their vital contributions to the underlying data and assumptions that made this work possible. The provided data is partly generated from the ASEAN Energy Database System (AEDS).

RE Data Explorer’s Levelised Cost of Energy Mapping tool provides first-of-its-kind results of a spatial levelised cost of energy (LCOE) analysis across select countries in ASEAN.

The tool fills a critical gap in identifying opportunities and scaling up renewable energy with quality data and analyses to support decisions on investing in and deploying renewables.
