Abstract The ASEAN transportation sector, a major energy consumer, is experiencing rapid growth, necessitating enhanced energy efficiency and conservation measures. This study examines current regional policies, identifying key gaps and best practices to accelerate sustainable transportation. While ASEAN has made progress in fuel economy standards, labeling policies, and electric vehicle (EV) adoption, inconsistencies in regulatory frameworks hinder harmonization. The study highlights the challenges of high EV costs, inadequate charging infrastructure, and limited policy coordination. Drawing from global best practices, it proposes strategic recommendations, including standardized fuel economy regulations, expanded EV incentives, public transport electrification, and regional collaboration on policy alignment and technology adoption. Strengthening public-private partnerships, promoting investment in energyefficient transport solutions, and integrating renewable energy into the mobility sector are essential for ASEAN to achieve its long-term energy and environmental goals.
